Do you have Medicaid?

The Augusta Regional Dental Clinic Is Currently Accepting New Medicaid Patients

ARDC accepts many forms of Dental Medicaid including Famis, Famis Plus, Optima and Virginia Premier for both adults and children.

Services Covered by Medicaid for Children:

  • Preventive dentistry (examinations, teeth cleaning, fluoride application, sealants, x-rays, oral hygiene and nutritional counseling)
  • Restorative dentistry (fillings)
  • Endodontics (root canals and crowns)
  • Extractions (limited surgical)

Medicaid adults residing in Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County are only eligible for dental services covered by the State of Virginia dental Medicaid program. These services include:

  • Examinations
  • X-rays
  • Extractions (limited)

***Once these services have been rendered, patient's have two options for treatment beyond the scope of Medicaid coverage:

Option One: Patient's can pay the current Medicaid rate for the treatment plan presented to them by the ARDC dentist, which must be paid in full prior to treatment. All costs associated with treatment plans will be discussed with the patient upfront.

Option Two: Patient will need to go through normal ARDC eligibility guidelines that are explained verbally and in writing prior to treatment being rendered.

Medicaid adults residing outside the ARDC service area are only eligible for dental services covered by the State of Virginia dental Medicaid program (examinations, x-rays, and extractions). Once these services have been rendered, the patient can utilize Option One (listed above), otherwise they will only be eligible for emergency services as described in the Augusta Regional Dental Clinic Emergency Patient Policy. Any treatment outside the purview of Medicaid adult coverage must be sought elsewhere.
